Belagavi: Staff Dies By Suicide at Tahsildar Office
Belagavi: A tragic incident occurred this morning at the Belagavi Tahsildar office, where an SDC clerk reportedly committed suicide. Rudranna Yadavannavar (35) was a second-grade assistant who took his own life by hanging in the office of Tahsildar Basavaraj Nagaral, according to police reports.
Yesterday, Rudranna had been transferred to the Belagavi Tahsildar office from the Sawadatti office. His suicide this morning has raised several questions and doubts.
Upon receiving the news, Rudranna’s wife and family members rushed to the Tahsildar office, where their grief was palpable. The police from the Khadebazar station arrived at the scene to investigate. The exact reason for the suicide will become clear through the police investigation.
DCP Rohan Jagadish visited the location and spoke to the media afterward. “The body was found in a hanging position. He used a veil to hang himself. We did not find any CCTV footage in the Tahsildar’s office. We will check the CCTV footage from outside. A case will be registered based on the complaint from the deceased’s family, and further investigation will follow,” he said.
Regarding messages circulating on WhatsApp groups, he commented, “There may have been messages posted on social media and WhatsApp groups. However, for the truth to be known, a thorough investigation is necessary. I cannot comment further on this matter.”
Rudranna is said to have written in a staff WhatsApp group that there was a lot of injustice happening in their office, urging everyone to unite and fight together. He reportedly claimed that the pressure from higher authorities was the reason for his suicide.
